NBA 2K22 contact dunk requirements and how to attempt slam dunks

The NBA 2K team had announced various offensive and defensive changes ahead of its global release on September 10.Now, with NBA 2K22 having officially been released, one of the most obvious changes in the game has been reported to be the new dunking system.

Contact Dunks are some of the most fun animations in the game, largely due to the fact that it is extremely fun to dunk over or through a defender.

Players should keep these minimum requirements in mind when creating their player for the first time. Some contact dunks require certain heights, driving dunk rating, and vertical rating. Here are all of the contact dunk packages and the requirements to equip them.
  •     Pro Contact Dunks — 84+ Driving Dunk and 70+ Vertical
  •     Elite Contact Dunks — 92+ Driving Dunk and 80+ Vertical
  •     Pro Contact Alley-Oops — 84+ Driving Dunk and 70+ Vertical
  •     Elite Contact Alley-Oops — 92+ Driving Dunk and 80+ Vertical

For both these reasons and game balance, the developers at 2K Games split the contact dunks into different categories, and placed access to each category under certain restrictions. These restrictions are listed below, in alphabetical order:
  •     Big Man Contact Dunks and Alley-Oops require 85+ Standing Dunk, 75+ Driving Dunk, 60+ Vertical, and a player height of at least 6'10".
  •     Elite Contact Alley-Oops require 92+ in Driving Dunk and 80+ in Vertical.
  •     Elite Contact Dunks require 92+ in Driving Dunk and 80+ in Vertical.
  •     Elite Standing Contact Dunks require 90+ in Driving Dunk, 75+ in Vertical, and a character height of at least 6'10".
  •     Pro Contact Alley-Oops require 84+ Driving Dunk and 70+ Vertical.
  •     Pro Contact Dunks require 84+ Driving Dunk and 70+ Vertical.
  •     Pro Standing Contact Dunks require 80+ Standing Dunk, 65+ Vertical, and a player height of at least 6'10".
  •     Small Contact Dunks and Alley-Oops require 86+ Driving Dunk, 85+ Vertical, and a player height under 6'5".

Finally, in order to be able to perform all of these moves – except the Small Contact ones – you will need to have a player with the following build. Driving Dunk: 92+, Standing Dunk: 90+, Vertical: 80+, Height: At Least 6’10”. Also don’t forget about the latest changes and new dunk meter. And there you have it, all the NBA 2K22 Contact Dunk Requirements. We hope that you will have a lot of fun performing all of these moves. Happy gaming!

Contact dunking in NBA 2K22 requires great timing and skill even with the minimum stat requirements, so players should practice perfecting dunking on opponents' heads.
